Research Scholar (Epistemes of Modern Acoustics), MPIWG

The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Berlin Max Planck Research Group “Epistemes of Modern Acoustics,” Director: Dr. Viktoria Tkaczyk offers one Research Scholar position for three years (with the possibility of a two-year renewal) to an outstanding junior scholar. The post is tenable from March 1, 2015.

Candidates should hold a doctorate in the history of science or related field at the time the position begins, and show evidence of scholarly promise in the form of publications or other achievements. A previous postdoctoral position is desirable but not essential.

Research projects may concern any culture throughout the modern era (including the present). Although projects must have a history-of-science component, both the human and natural sciences are included under that rubric, and additional relevant disciplinary perspectives are welcome.
